Barbs-The Messy Dance

I was going to write about Nagorno-Kharabakh or the centrality of the Kurds to the fight against Daesh. But something a little more lighthearted  caught my attention.

There’s a new beat coming out of the Saudi Kingdom. It’s a mix of Middle Eastern sound, late 80’s-early 90’s hip hop, and some clever editing. In the video, there’s even a guy wearing a Paul Posluszny jersey…not sure how he has fans in Saudi Arabia.

Even with the happy go lucky sound, there are some who haven’t taken too kindly to the video. Conservatives in Saudi Arabia (shocking, I know) have criticized the video as proof of too much Western influence in the country.

That’s a bunch of nonsense. Let the kids have fun!

I don’t know about you, but this is definitely going to be on the playlist for my next party.
